Little Known Herbs That Lower Blood Pressure

Though the last few decades or so, researchers have identified many herbs that lower blood pressure.

For those looking to lower blood pressure without drugs, herbs are a natural alternative. African natural hypertension cures as well as some of the herbs listed below are a great indicator of the wealth of options that people have for reducing their blood pressure.

1. Hawthorn (crataegus oxyacantha) - outside of the U.S., this is one of the little known herbs that lower blood pressure according to many overseas researchers. The active components of the plant affecting blood pressure are thought to be the high levels of antioxidants in the leaves, flowers, and berries.

This herb has been used for centuries to strengthen the heart and treat rapid heartbeat symptoms. The theory is that it works by dilating the arteries of the body thus helping to improve the blood flow throughout the body. It's also thought to help prevent cholesterol from being deposited on the artery walls. The herb is especially popular in Germany which has numerous heart medications based on the herb. It can be found in health stores in the form of teas and tablets. Currently, the U.S. FDA has no position on the effectiveness of this herb.

I started taking statins some time ago and suffered muscle pains as many do. My doctor recommended CoQ10, but it was so expensive in every store I checked locally that I just suffered.

Finally I checked Amazon and there was a huge bottle at a little price. After one week - no more muscular pain. I would recommend this product to ANYONE who takes a statin for high cholestrol.

I have been taking these Hawthorn Berries for about 6 years now as recommended by a friend to help with an irregular heartbeat associated with mitral valve prolapse. Now my condition is very mild and the palpitations are more "annoying" than medically alarming, but I have noticed that when I take these my heart beats normally and if I skip several days in a row I may have an extra beat or two from time to time.

Don't know if it's true, but I have heard that Hawthorn Berries are prescribed by cardiologists in Europe, and that if you take this for a condition such as mine it won't get any worse. I like this brand because it is "standardized" which means they test each "batch' for potency. Buying the 4 pack from Amazon thru subscribe & save is the cheapest way by far I've found to purchase these!

STANDARDIZED NATURE'S WAY HAWTHORN IS SERIOUS MEDICINE FOR CARDIAC & CIRCULATORY AILMENTS!

WHAT IS HAWTHORN GOOD FOR?

According to "HEALTHNOTES", Hawthorn may be useful for the following ailments; Congestive heart failure, Angina, Cardiomyopathy (if congestive heart failure is also present), Cardiac arrhythmia, Cardiomyopathy (if congestive heart failure is not present, & Hypertension.

This standardized Hawthorn is serious medicine for cardiac and circulatory ailments. The problem though is "BERRY". According to most but not all informed sources, modern medicinal extracts primarily use the leaves and flowers. Traditional preparations use the fruit. The Berry is the fruit. In this "Nature's Way" product it is standardized from the "tops" and "flowers", but also has 300 mg. of the crude herb added, for balance. This blend is unique to "Nature's Way", and I do feel this product is the most beneficial for cardiac health, from my personal experience over several years.

The standardized

2. Passionflower (Passiflora Incarnata) - another of the herbs that is not will known in the U.S., but in has a reputation in many -European countries of being one of the few herbs that lower blood pressure. Most of the studies of this herb have been done in European countries.

This herb is generally thought to help lower blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and calming the body. And researchers seem to agree that it is especially effective in treating anxiety disorders. In fact, Germany has approved it for both anxiety and insomnia treatments. Since it's primary effectiveness has been as a stress reliever, it's thought that the lowering of blood pressure is simply a side effect of the herbs relaxation properties.

Originally approved by the FDA for use as a sedative and sleep aid, this herb was used in many over the counter sleeping aids. Later, however, the FDA re-classified it as a "Class II" herb (meaning that it had restrictions on where it could be used). Although this herb has been tested and approved in many European countries, the FDA in our country has no official position on it.

After Dr. OZ mentioned this product on his show, it flew off the shelves and was difficult to find. I didn't buy the larger size, because I wanted to see if it truly worked and it does.

I take the recommended amount before bed and I'm off to sleep in no time. You don't feel drugged in the morning, either. I'm unsure about taking it during the day...to calm frazzled nerves..maybe in a lesser amount, so you don't feel sleepy. I would definitely buy it again!

Best capsule for passionflower

This product works very well. I primarily use it as a sleep aid. Looking around this is probably the best choice (dosage and price) if you're looking for quick capsules of passionflower.

1 pill is 250mg 3.5%-4% extract and the recommended dose is 2 pills (500mg).

Anxiety appears to run in my family. As much as I used anxiety for positive results in the past it is only over the last couple of years that job and family pressures were becoming difficult to manage - irritability and tension ensued for extended months.

After researching herbal remedies for assistance I decided to purchase this specific product and give it a try. I've followed the instructions of (2) 350mg twice per day (once in the morning and once in the afternoon). Amazing change noticed immediately - my mind no longer races and a sense of calm and happiness to enjoy the little things in life.

Highly recommended.

3. Guelder Rose bark (Viburnum Opulus) - There is much anecdotal evidence that this herb helps to lower blood pressure but no trials or studies have been done to prove the point. Nevertheless, it's used by many people not just to lower blood pressure but also to relieve muscle tension, treat asthma, and relieve constipation.

In addition to low blood pressure the herb is also used by some for other circulatory problems. Until this herb is studied more, however, it should not be used as a substitute for medical hypertension.

4. Green Tea -

In the past decade, much research has been done on green tea. Nearly all have revealed a positive relationship between drinking green tea and reducing blood pressure.

Researchers are always interested in how to control high blood pressure. Some studies have shown that drinking at least 4 ounces of tea a day can lower the chances of you developing blood pressure by half. It also found that, drinking green tea on a regular basis were less likely to develop high blood pressure than were those who did not drink green tea.

Researchers are still studying the long term effects of green tea on high blood pressure. Some studies have indicated that long term use of green tea can lower high blood pressure. Others, however, are less definitive.

I skeptically bought this a week ago and to my surprise it really works! It works really well at suppressing appetite and increasing energy with absolutely no caffeine or ephedra or any stimulants that I know of.

It does make me wonder if I'm vitamin deficient or if it's the antioxidants in the decaf.-green tea extract that makes this work.

After trying several cleansing and diet products with acai berries and disappointed with each one I was skeptical about this product but for $5.00 I couldn't pass up. I was amaze at how well it suppressed my appetite. I felt like I had lots of energy and was not jittery like most products.

I had extra bowel movement but no cramps and it didn't give me diarrhea. I am drinking a lot more water and I feel a difference in my metabolism because in the morning when I wake up I am starving! I don't eat as much as I normally would have and lost 1/2 on the first day which is not bad. I am excited to see how I do after incorporating my running and workouts with it. Loving the results so far!
